DECIDED 2026-08-01 — Chris took ALL frames. Every candidate ships: Gulf 6, Riviera 5, Ocean 4. My selections were overruled and the page is kept as the record of what I proposed and why — including the two readings I got wrong from measurements before looking at the pictures. The rotation below now opens on the shipped set; click any frame to see what a narrower cut would have looked like.
PROOF — Riviera
Five frames, three in the app. Storm sailing, mast and rig vertical through the crop — the composition this 1:5.14 frame wants.

How I chose — and this is the part to overrule
Chosen for tonal consistency, which is the fault being fixed. The set being replaced spans L 0.30–0.83 — range 0.53, the widest in the app, with one frame 28.4% blown. Frames 1, 2 and 4 span 0.44–0.45: range 0.01. Adding 5 lifts it to 0.07; adding 3 lifts it to 0.18. ⚠️ And my reading of these was wrong too. The tool derives tan
#DFAE80 from 1 and 2, which I called *"warm tan, not sea"* — until I looked. The tan is a sunset band behind the sail; the frames are predominantly storm-gray and deep blue.Which three? My picks are the tightest tonally. But 3 is pure grayscale and may be the most striking single image in the set — it just costs 0.17 of range if it goes in.
⚠️ These were built before you saw them. Every other theme this week was proofed
first. This page exists because that was the wrong order — the selections below are mine, made on
measurements, and two of my readings of these very sets turned out to be wrong until I looked at the
pictures. Tell me a different set and I will rebuild it.
